Lip blushing is a semi-permanent treatment that uses a hand-held electronic device to deposit pigment into the lips, to restore natural color and definition. Unlike traditional lip permanent makeup tattoos, this modern technique uses gentle pixel shading to create a soft finish—never harsh or lined. At Evertrue Salon, every treatment begins with a customized pigment blend matched to your skin tone and lip undertones. Every Lip Blushing appointment begins with a consultation. We look closely at your natural lip tone, symmetry, and undertones, then guide you toward a color that will heal in a way that feels natural on your skin and not just immediately after the treatment.
Shape is approached conservatively. The goal is to refine and define, not to dramatically alter your natural lip line.
Once the plan is clear, pigment is applied gradually. The process is controlled and layered, allowing the color to build evenly rather than appear heavy or over-saturated.
Some clients may benefit from a follow-up session, depending on how their lips retain pigment. Lip tissue can vary, and results are intentionally developed over time rather than forced in a single appointment.
Healing, Results, and Important Expectations
Right after your appointment, your lips will look more saturated and slightly more defined than the final result. This is temporary.
As your lips heal, the color softens—often significantly—settling into a more natural tone over the following weeks. It’s common for the color to fluctuate during this time, sometimes appearing lighter before it evens out.
Healing is generally straightforward but requires attention. Lips may feel dry, and there can be light peeling as the skin renews. What matters most is understanding that the final result is not immediate, but rather iit develops gradually.

Preparing for Your Lip Blushing Appointment
Prepare for your Lip Blushing treatment at Evertrue Salon by moisturizing your lips with Vaseline for 30 minutes each night for three days before your appointment. This helps ensure smooth, even pigment absorption.
Post-Treatment Care for Lip Blushing
- Avoid water, hot liquids, and spicy or acidic foods for 24 hours post-treatment.
- Apply healing cream frequently to manage dryness and swelling.
- Refrain from using makeup, swimming, or tanning for two weeks.
- Use a straw for drinks and avoid direct contact with hot liquids.

Can I choose my lip color?
Yes, our artists will help you select a color that best suits your skin tone and preferences. We also mix pigments to attain the perfect color for you.
How soon will I see results?
Lips may be swollen and color intense immediately after the session. Swelling subsides within hours and color will soften as lips heal. The healing process takes 6-8 weeks for the full outcome.
What happens during the Perfecting Session?
The complimentary Perfecting Session refines shape and color, within 6-8 weeks of your initial session.
Is Lip Blushing painful?
We use medical-grade numbing cream, and most clients report minimal discomfort.
How long does Lip Blushing last?
Results typically last up to two years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare.
Is Lip Blushing safe?
All our pigments are cosmetic grade, meaning they are sterilized and purified for cosmetic use. Our specialists are highly trained and experienced professionals.
Are your lip pigments vegan?
Are there any allergens in your lip pigments?
Our pigments are formulated to be hypoallergenic, but we always recommend a patch test if you have a history of allergies or sensitivities.
What’s used to create the color in lip pigments?
We use organic and inorganic colorants suspended in a base of glycerin and distilled water, along with minimal safe preservatives.
Do your pigments contain carmine?
No. Carmine (derived from insects) is a common coloring agent in many lip products, but we do not use it in any of our pigments.
Can I get lip blush if I’m prone to cold sores?
Yes, but we recommend taking an antiviral medication before your appointment to reduce the risk of an outbreak. We’ll discuss this during your consultation.
Other Considerations
Lip Filler
Lip augmentation/ fillers should be done AFTER the Lip Blushing treatment. Your doctor will be able to determine where to place the fillers without altering the overall lip shape that we created. Should you decide to cease filler treatments, lips will settle at original balanced position. (Please note, however, that in a few cases lip filler injections result in blisters that might affect lip color, necessitating a touch-up).
Other Cosmetic Treatments
Please wait two weeks if you have had these or other similar cosmetic treatments done: PRF, Hydrofacials, Chemical Peels, Microneedling, Forma (on face), Sculptra, Villiers.
MRIs
Some of our pigments contain iron oxide. These are in very minuscule quantities that should not interfere with MRIs. Please consult your doctor should you require more information.
Pregnancy/ Breastfeeding
We do not recommend doing any cosmetic tattooing if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Should you still desire to continue with treatment, please consult your doctor prior to the appointment. We will also require an additional liability waiver.
Under 18 year old
We do not perform any treatments on anyone under the age of 18.
