Microneedling has become one of the most popular treatments for improving skin texture, reducing fine lines, and stimulating collagen. At the same time, many clients are also booking semi-permanent brow services such as nanobrows or microblading to enhance brow shape and fullness.
Because both treatments involve controlled skin injury and healing, timing matters. At Evertrue Salon, clients frequently ask whether they can combine microneedling with nanobrows, and how long they should wait between treatments.
The short answer: yes, you can safely have both—but proper scheduling is essential to protect both your skin health and your brow results.
Why Microneedling and Nanobrows Affect Each Other
Both treatments interact with the skin barrier in different ways.
Nanobrows and microblading deposit pigment into the upper dermis using ultra-fine needles. The success of the treatment depends on stable skin during the healing phase so the pigment can settle evenly.
Microneedling, on the other hand, creates thousands of micro-channels in the skin to stimulate collagen production. This process triggers inflammation and cellular repair, which temporarily disrupts the skin barrier.
When these two treatments are performed too close together, microneedling can interfere with pigment retention or cause premature fading of freshly implanted brow pigment.
Microneedling Before Nanobrows or Microblading
If you plan to do microneedling first, it is important to allow the skin to fully recover before a brow tattoo treatment.
Traditional microneedling typically requires about 2 weeks of healing time before the skin barrier stabilizes. Performing nanobrows too soon afterward may lead to increased sensitivity, redness, and unpredictable pigment retention.
At Evertrue Salon, we generally recommend waiting at least two weeks after microneedling before scheduling nanobrows or microblading.
This waiting period allows the skin’s inflammatory response to resolve and ensures that the brow artist is working on stable, healthy skin.
Microneedling After Nanobrows
If you have already had nanobrows or microblading, it is equally important to protect the newly implanted pigment.
During the first several weeks after a brow procedure, the skin is still healing and the pigment is stabilizing beneath the surface. Performing microneedling too soon can disrupt this process and potentially lift or blur the pigment.
For this reason, experienced brow artists typically recommend waiting at least four weeks after nanobrows or microblading before having microneedling treatments near the forehead or brow area.
If microneedling is being performed elsewhere on the face and the brow area is avoided, treatment may sometimes be done sooner. However, this should always be discussed with both your aesthetic provider and your brow artist.
RF Microneedling vs Traditional Microneedling
Not all microneedling treatments affect the skin in the same way.
Traditional Microneedling
Standard microneedling devices use fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. The depth can vary depending on the treatment area and the provider’s technique, but the recovery period is generally shorter.
Because the treatment relies purely on mechanical needling, the surrounding tissue tends to recover relatively quickly.
RF Microneedling
Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling combines needles with heat energy delivered into the dermis. Devices such as Morpheus8 or Secret RF use this energy to tighten skin and stimulate deeper collagen remodeling.
Because RF microneedling penetrates deeper and generates thermal energy in the skin, it can create a more significant inflammatory response.
For clients who have had RF microneedling, we typically recommend waiting closer to three to four weeks before having nanobrows or microblading. The additional healing time allows the skin to stabilize before pigment implantation.
Why Timing Matters for Brow Results
One of the most important factors in achieving beautiful nanobrows is predictable pigment retention.
When the skin is inflamed, compromised, or actively healing from another treatment, several problems can occur:
• pigment may heal unevenly
• strokes may blur or fade prematurely
• skin may become more sensitive during the procedure
By allowing the skin to fully recover between treatments, brow artists can work on a calm, stable surface that holds pigment more consistently.
Expert Advice From Evertrue Brow Artists
Because Evertrue Salon specializes exclusively in brows, we often work with clients who are also receiving dermatology or med-spa treatments.
Our general guideline for combining microneedling with nanobrows is:
-
Wait 2 weeks after traditional microneedling before brow tattooing
-
Wait 3–4 weeks after RF microneedling before brow tattooing
-
Wait 4 weeks after nanobrows or microblading before microneedling near the brow area
These timeframes help protect both your skin and your brow results.
If you are unsure how to schedule your treatments, our artists can review your skincare plans and help you create a safe timeline.
Planning Your Treatments Safely
Many Evertrue clients maintain both brow treatments and advanced skincare procedures as part of their beauty routine. With proper timing, these treatments complement each other beautifully.
The key is to avoid overlapping healing phases.
When microneedling and nanobrows are spaced appropriately, microneedling can even enhance the surrounding skin texture, helping the brows appear smoother and more polished overall.
