GLP-1 and Cosmetic Treatments: How to Plan Botox, Facials, and Brow Treatments Together

If you are taking Ozempic or Wegovy, your skin may respond differently to cosmetic treatments. Here is how to plan Botox, facials, and brow treatments for the best results.

Clients taking GLP-1 medications are often also investing more in their overall appearance. As the face changes, there is a natural desire to refine and maintain balance.

We see this combination frequently. A client may be considering Botox, regular facials, and brow treatments at the same time. Each of these can work well on its own, but the way they are timed and layered together becomes more important when the skin is changing. It is important to do things in the right order.

How GLP-1 Affects the Skin Across Treatments

The common thread is that the skin can be slightly more variable. We often notice subtle differences in hydration, elasticity, and overall resilience. These are not dramatic changes, but they can influence how the skin responds to treatments that rely on healing or precision.

For brow work, this affects how pigment is retained. For facials, it can influence sensitivity and recovery. For Botox, it can subtly change how the brow sits once muscle movement is adjusted. When all three are in play, coordination is important.

Botox and Brow Treatments

Botox affects the muscles that control brow position. Even small changes in muscle activity can shift the height and shape of the brow.  We recommend doing brow treatments before Botox.  Botox can slightly alter the balance of the brow. An experienced Botox provider, however, can easily work with this to keep the shape and proportions the same.

If Botox is done after microblading or nanobrows, please wait at least two weeks so we are working with the brow in its relaxed position. This allows us to design the shape based on how your face will look day to day.

Facials and Skin Treatments

Facials, chemical peels, and other skin treatments play a different role. These treatments can affect the surface of the skin and how quickly it turns over. If done too close to a brow appointment, they can interfere with pigment retention.

Before a brow treatment, it is best to avoid aggressive exfoliation or resurfacing. The skin should be calm and stable.

After a brow treatment, allowing the skin to fully heal before resuming facials is important. This gives the pigment time to settle properly.

With GLP-1 clients, where the skin may already be slightly more reactive, spacing these treatments out becomes even more important.

Where Nanobrows Fit Into the Plan

When multiple treatments are being combined, nanobrows often integrate more easily. Because the technique allows for more controlled pigment placement, it tends to be more adaptable in skin that is undergoing subtle changes. This makes it a good option when the skin is also being influenced by other treatments or routines. It also tends to create a more consistent result across the brow, which is helpful when other factors like Botox are affecting overall brow positioning.

Creating a Treatment Timeline

For most clients, a simple sequence works well. Start with your brow treatment, whether that is microblading or nanobrows.  And then Botox if it is part of your routine. (If you do Botox first, allow it to settle so your natural brow position is clear. Then proceed with your brow treatment, whether that is microblading or nanobrows.)

After the brows have healed, you can resume facials and other skin treatments, spacing them in a way that does not disrupt the pigment. This sequence keeps each treatment from interfering with the others.

Adjusting for Active Weight Loss

If you are actively losing weight on GLP-1 medications, your face may still be changing. In this case, we often take a more conservative approach across all treatments. Brow work may be built more gradually, and timing between treatments may be extended slightly to allow the skin to settle. Once your weight stabilizes, it becomes easier to fine tune everything.

The Takeaway

GLP-1 medications do not limit your ability to get cosmetic treatments, but they do make coordination more important. Botox, facials, and brow treatments can all work together. The key is timing them in a way that supports how the skin heals and how the brow sits. When done thoughtfully, the result feels balanced and natural, not overworked.
