What is Lip Blushing?

Lip Blushing is a cosmetic tattoo treatment that enhances the natural shape and color of your lips. Lip Blushing brings a healthy, natural-looking blush to your lips, a subtle lip stain that reveals the perfect lip shape. Cover blemishes or irregularities in lip color and tone. Treat these perfectly formed and colored lips like you were born with them– apply traditional lip glosses and lip stick colors, or leave them “untouched” and perfect.

This semi-permanent treatment uses a precise tool and the latest pigments, to create a rejuvenated look that lasts up to two years. It’s perfect for those seeking youthful, smudge-free, resh-looking lips without daily maintenance.

The Lip Blushing Process

1 Pre-Appointment Instructions

If your lips tend to be dry, please apply Vaseline (or similar) to lips for 30 minutes every night for three days, before coming in for your treatment. This will soften and moisturize dry lips, allowing them to absorb pigment better.

2 The Process

We start with a consultation to decide on color choice that best suits client skin tone and current lip color. Then, we will review how best to correct or improve lip shape if necessary. A topical numbing cream will be applied, which will take approximately 20 minutes to take effect. The specialist will use a medical-grade needle to create the lip blush (all items that touch the skin are single use and are discarded after the treatment). The entire treatment will last about two hours. Lip Blushing will last for up to 2 years, depending on individual circumstances (e.g. skin type, thickness and depth of color chosen, and lifestyle), and fade gradually and naturally. Please note however that there may be vestigial pigment that may resist complete fading. Many clients opt to return for periodic touch-ups to refresh shape and color.

3 The Perfecting Session

Please return within 6-8 weeks of the initial Lip Blushing treatment for the complimentary Perfecting Session. Lip Blushing is a two-step process and the Perfecting Session is necessary to set the shape and color. The Perfecting Session will build on the color that is already absorbed by the skin. The same process as the initial treatment will be followed.

4 Post-Appointment Instructions

General post-treatment care for all treatments: — Do not expose the treated area to water for 24 hours — Apply a thin layer of Healing Cream with clean fingertips only if the area is itchy or dry. — Avoid sun exposure, saunas, excessive sweating, tanning, and makeup on the treated area for one week — Avoid swimming, facials, chemical peels, and laser treatments for two weeks — Avoid intensive facial products, prolonged sun exposure, and laser treatments to prolong results. Swelling reduces after a few hours; avoid hot liquids for the first 24 hours and use a straw. Avoid spicy, salty, oily, acidic foods, and shellfish for one week. Manage dryness and swelling by applying Healing Cream frequently; lips may crack or blister easily for one week. Apply Healing Cream, until lips are fully peeled.

Prepare for your Lip Blushing treatment at Evertrue Salon by moisturizing your lips with Vaseline for 30 minutes each night for three days before your appointment. This helps ensure smooth, even pigment absorption.

Post-Treatment Care for Lip Blushing

Avoid water, hot liquids, and spicy or acidic foods for 24 hours post-treatment.
Apply healing cream frequently to manage dryness and swelling.
Refrain from using makeup, swimming, or tanning for two weeks.
Use a straw for drinks and avoid direct contact with hot liquids.

Can I choose my lip color?

Yes, our artists will help you select a color that best suits your skin tone and preferences. We also mix pigments to attain the perfect color for you.

How soon will I see results?

Lips may be swollen and color intense immediately after the session. Swelling subsides within hours and color will soften as lips heal. The healing process takes 6-8 weeks for the full outcome.

What happens during the Perfecting Session?

The complimentary Perfecting Session refines shape and color, within 6-8 weeks of your initial session.

Is Lip Blushing painful?

We use medical-grade numbing cream, and most clients report minimal discomfort.

How long does Lip Blushing last?

Results typically last up to two years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare.

Is Lip Blushing safe?

All our pigments are cosmetic grade, meaning they are sterilized and purified for cosmetic use. Our specialists are highly trained and experienced professionals.

Are your lip pigments vegan?

Yes. Evertrue uses lip pigments that are certified vegan and cruelty-free — no animal testing, no animal by-products.

Are there any allergens in your lip pigments?

Our pigments are formulated to be hypoallergenic, but we always recommend a patch test if you have a history of allergies or sensitivities.

What’s used to create the color in lip pigments?

We use organic and inorganic colorants suspended in a base of glycerin and distilled water, along with minimal safe preservatives.

Do your pigments contain carmine?

No. Carmine (derived from insects) is a common coloring agent in many lip products, but we do not use it in any of our pigments.

Can I get lip blush if I’m prone to cold sores?

Yes, but we recommend taking an antiviral medication before your appointment to reduce the risk of an outbreak. We’ll discuss this during your consultation.

Other Considerations

Lip Filler

Lip augmentation/ fillers should be done AFTER the Lip Blushing treatment. Your doctor will be able to determine where to place the fillers without altering the overall lip shape that we created. Should you decide to cease filler treatments, lips will settle at original balanced position. (Please note, however, that in a few cases lip filler injections result in blisters that might affect lip color, necessitating a touch-up).

Other Cosmetic Treatments

Please wait two weeks if you have had these or other similar cosmetic treatments done: PRF, Hydrofacials, Chemical Peels, Microneedling, Forma (on face), Sculptra, Villiers.

MRIs

Some of our pigments contain iron oxide. These are in very minuscule quantities that should not interfere with MRIs. Please consult your doctor should you require more information.

Pregnancy/ Breastfeeding

We do not recommend doing any cosmetic tattooing if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Should you still desire to continue with treatment, please consult your doctor prior to the appointment. We will also require an additional liability waiver.

Under 18 year old

We do not perform any treatments on anyone under the age of 18.
